Ludo Bertsch is one of the most knowledgeable yet approachable people on the subject of electricity and the grid.  He will be the guest speaker for Energy Solutions for Vancouver Island's AGM this Saturday, in Nanaimo.

 

His topic, entitled “Where is our power going?” will mainly focus on the new smart meters, painting a picture of the changes underway that will dramatically alter the interaction between the power grid and homes/businesses. Electric car charging that could reverse and supply power to the grid when needed. Monitoring or changing one’s home’s energy usage from a cell phone. Appliances that smartly communicate with the electrical grid so as to save costs and outages.  And more.
