Save Our Rivers Society Films Feature Prominently in Upcoming Film Festivals

Numerous films produced by Damien Gillis and Save Our Rivers Society over the past year will be screened at upcoming film festivals across BC and Canada. 

Social Justice Film Festival: White Rock, BC Friday Feb 20 7-9 PM @ First United Church - Damien Gillis and Rafe Mair will be on hand for the playing of Save Our Rivers' "POWERPLAY: The Theft of BC's Rivers," as well "The Art of the Rainforests." The evening will feature a Q & A with Gillis and Mair.  

Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival:
North Vancouver & Downtown Vancouver 

The festival is playing "Rivers at Risk: Koch Creek"
Opening night Feb 20 7:30 - 9:30 PM. 
Centennial Theatre, 2300 Londsdale Avenue, North Vancouver.   

Monday Feb 23 from 7:30 - 9:30 PM
Pacific Cinématheque, 1131 Howe Street, Vancouver

Save Our Rivers' Damien Gillis and Rafe Mair will co-host the festival's "Earth Alive" night dedicated to environmental films.  Two of Gillis' short films - "POWERPLAY: The Theft of BC's Rivers" and "POWERPLAY: Up the Mountain" will be playing, along with several others including a film by kayaker Carl Jacks about paddling Kootenay rivers threatened by private power projects.  Mair and Gillis will each make presentations, in addition to a Q & A with the audience.   

In addition to these festivals, one or more Save Our Rivers films by Damien Gillis have been selected for a number of upcoming film festivals across BC and Canada - including the Okanagan Film Festival and the Reel Paddling Film Festival (whitewater) in Ontario.
